Tuition for the program costs $200.00 for the first two years and $100.00 for each two year period thereafter. ConservTM created the American Conservation certification program in 2006. It began as a pilot certification approved by the Virginia Department of Professional Occupations and Regulation for 8 continuing eduacation credit hours. The class was taught through the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS. A 4 hour Field Class was also approved by DPOR in 2006. Both the 8 hour and 4 hour class are required for pilot program certification. Unlike the on-line program, which is standardized for the U.S., the field school is specifically tailored for states or special bioregions. Field school programs provide outside environmental education and provide specific classroom instruction tailored for the general area in which a broker or agent’s practice is based.
