Conserv began in 2006 with the creation of the American Conservation certification program. There are several dozen certified REALTORs now practicing in Virginia with some in other states now enrolled. The American Conservation certification is geared to help agents understand the deeper dimensions of conservation and ecology and provides limited marketing materials to help get a conservation practice running.

What is the value added? Generally, only properties listed by American Conservation graduates can be posted as Conservation Real Estate on the site and featured on the homepage. In 2009-2010, Conserv will also advertise nationally for the certification bringing new clients to certified agents.

ACB certification classes are currently offered in the mid-Atlantic region two ways-via the on-line course available on this site and through classes sponsored by area associations of REALTORS.

Last year, we taught the class to a few agents in Winchester, Virginia and had a great time. The classes are part classroom and part field. Introductory slides from that class are provided below:

The cost? It’s $200.00 for two years and half that for every two years thereafter. However, scholarships based on need are available from Conserv. We have offered some folks free tuition. Just call us. We offer offer discounts for group rates.
