Michael Collins is the Executive Director of Conserv and is a former professional planner living in Orange, Virginia. He is also affiliated with the firms Virginia Groundwater and The Center for Sustainable Groundwater. He was most recently a City Planner in Richmond and for nearly five years was the Director of the the Community Development Department for the Town of Orange. His education includes a degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a graduate degree in Planning from the University of Virginia. He also has been trained as a contractor, REALTOR, tenured public school science teacher, and public school administrator. He began the prototype for Conserv, Conservation Properties International, in 2004 with 3 colleagues, Dr. Nick Evans, John Hermsmeier, and Steve Keach, with grant support from The Nature Conservancy.
